Taking A Poll

Following my friends idea, I'm taking a poll...
Mike, (not Jamie), wants to buy Emily what I think are called Heely shoes. Those are the shoes with skates in the heel. Now I for one am totally against "miss grace" getting those shoes. Personally, I'm not sure she'll ever be able to use them. But Mike thinks she is totally ready and could handle them. Personally, I think he's just upset they don't make them in his size and he's living through her! BUT, maybe I'm being unreasonable. You tell us. Please let us know your opinion! Keep in mind, this IS Emily we are talking about!!

NO WAY!!!! I've seen her just trying to walk in her flip-flops, I like her in one piece! :)

keep that girl on solid ground, unless your going to buy stock in band-aid :)

I definitely say no way!

HECK YES!!!!! I have wanted a pair of those ever since our youth started wearing them. She will be the envy of every kid in KIDMO!

NO WAY!! They are cool, however she is too young and definitely not coordinated enough. My neighbor just bought some for his son whom is 6 years old, you should see him trying to teach him how to use them every night. It is a riot. But not going so well. Not only that I think that little boys get the hang of things like that faster than little girls. So long story short NO NO NO.

I vote yes, because I support my brother. He is rational and will not lead you astray, stick with him!

One more thing, I don't quite know how in two days your poll gets 6 comments and mine got none in a whole week, what is up with that.

Jamie, I'm with you. Em should probably stick with solid ground until she no longer suits her nickname "Ms Grace".

No, no, no! Unless you want to spend the next several months in the emergency room, this isn't a good idea. Instead, how about just special ordering some for Mike so he won't need to be living vicariously! LOL

Okay, so here is Leslie's opinion...NO! I only say this because it seems as though you guys already are on a first-name basis with the Mercy ER staff. Although I'm sure they are all great people, let's not get to know them any better, eh?

Emily should definitely be allowed to have the shoes. How else will she learn to fall gracefully.

This isn't a second vote, just additional reasons. I want her to learn grace too, maybe when she's at least 10, or 16? After she can sit on a barstool for more than 10 seconds without falling off...after she can run without skimming by walls with a hair's breath between her and the wall - while looking backwards (she got that one from her mom!).

Interesting - all the dads say YES, all the moms say NO!!!!

I am no dad (that I know of), just a concerned citizen.

I would like to offer Defense Exhibit A, your own blog, which says that Ally out-ER'd Emily by a count of 2-0. That's zero trips for someone you're all saying is a klutz.

My, I hope she doesn't read these faithless comments someday. Mike is thinking right on this one!

I am not changing my vote, but I do see Jamie's point, as I watched Emily fall three times today walking through the gym. Nothing tripped her or got in her way, she just flat out fell. It was pretty funny.

I am thinking of changing my vote on one condition and that is I think that the only time Em is allowed to wear the "heelys" is under Daddys supervision. Every child deserves a pair of heelys when Daddy is available for the fun and the eventual ER trip.

I simply vote no, for obvious reasons.

Jenn said...

Emily needs Heelys! They would guve her a chance to improve her balance and coordination. Just don't let her wear them on the second floor.

Comment before was obviously Jed not Jenn just for clarification. My one stipulation was if daddy was supervisor otherwise my vote still stands as NO.

Um, NOOOOO! Have you seen the statistics for injuries with these shoes!?! Even among older kids, the injury rate is REALLY high... Karissa DESPERATELY wants a pair, but it's a "no" here, too, and she's SEVEN! LOL
